Trash Toppler
This was a group project, made for the UKIE 2024 Game Jam.
In Trash Toppler, you and your sewer-dwelling friend must escape to the surface using the only resource you have in abundance: rubbish. This competitive local multiplayer physics game challenges two players to build a structurally sound tower within a tight two-minute timeframe.
There’s a twist: each player wields a cannon to disrupt their opponent's construction, adding a strategic layer to the chaotic gameplay. The outcomes are simple: both players can lose, both can win, or one player can triumph, earning morepoints.
Trash Toppler was recognized for its technical excellence, winning the UKIE Student Game Jam award for best technical achievement. This accolade highlights the innovative mechanics and robust physics system that underpin the game, ensuring a smooth and responsive gameplay experience. The game was also selected to be showcased at Gamebridge 2024.
Additionally, I was responsible for the UI art and design, creating an intuitive and visually appealing interface that enhanced the overall player experience. My artistic contributions extended to many of the in-game 2D assets, which I drew by hand, adding a unique and cohesive aesthetic to the game.
